ROGERS Geneva McGarrah Bauer
Geneva McGarrah Bauer, 81, of Lowell died Nov. 16, 2009. She was born July 15, 1928, in Lowell to Edgar and Pearl Grizzle McGarrah.
She was a member of Jesus Name Assembly Pentecostal Church and a farmer.
Survivors include a brother, Harlow McGarrah and wife, Oleta, of Siloam Springs; a sister, Erma Dean Layne and husband, Arnold, of Bentonville; two grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 19 at Jesus Name Assembly Pentecostal Church in Springdale. Burial followed at Rogers Cemetery. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.
Sandy Lou Beebe
Sandy Lou Beebe, 55, of Rogers died Nov. 18, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers.
She enjoyed big family gatherings, visiting, writing letters and cards and just being surrounded by her loved ones. She enjoyed collecting dolls and Elvis memorabilia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Beebe; her mother, Clara Smith; her stepfather, Elbert Smith; one brother, Leon Beebe; three sisters, Brenda Beebe, Glenda Beebe and Alice Cannady; her only child, Lonnie Duane Mortensen; a nephew, Larry Martin; and a niece, Rosetta Swadley.
Survivors include her lifetime mate, Curtis Mortensen; two sisters, Pat Martin of Elm Springs and Leona Stephens of Rogers; two brothers, Jack Beebe and Edward Beebe, both of Rogers; 13 nieces and nephews; and 22 great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Nov. 12 at Rogers Cemetery. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home.
Doris G. Horine
Doris G. Horine, 76, of Rogers died Nov. 14, 2009, in Rogers. She was born July 16, 1933, in Blue Eye to Riley and Susie Carhichael Gilbert.
She was a bookkeeper.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Huntington of Springdale, Johnnie Huntington of Newport News, Va., Gary Huntington of Huntsville and Michael Horine of Tennessee; two daughters, Marjorie Huntington of Rogers and Cheryl Crownover of Tennessee; six brothers; six sisters; six grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 19 at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Chapel.
Stacy L. Martin
Stacy L. Martin, 41, of Siloam Springs died Nov. 15, 2009, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born March 24, 1968, in San Jose, Calif., to Bob and Betty Kirkpatrick Smith.
She was a dispatcher and paramedic for the Siloam Springs Police Department and a member of the Parelli Horsemanship Group.
Survivors include her husband, Jon Martin; a daughter, Corey Ann Martin of the home; her mother, Betty Smith of Rogers; her father, Bob Smith of Salado, Texas; and a brother, Rob Smith and wife, Chris, of Bentonville.
Services were held Nov. 19 at New Life Tabernacle in Siloam Springs. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
Warren D. McCurley
Warren D. McCurley, 89, of Rogers died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Dallas to the late Lewis and Martha (Kern) McCurley.
He was a WWII veteran and a 32nd degree Mason. He and his wife were also very active in the First Baptist Church of Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Edith McCurley.
Survivors include two sons, Larry McCurley of Los Angeles and Dennis Mc-Curley and his wife Marlene of Seattle; one daughter, Joyce Wood of Springdale; one brother, Stanley McCurley and his wife Beverly of Medford, Okla.; six grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 16 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with interment at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
Marcia Darlene Parks
Marcia Darlene Parks, 79, of Rogers died Nov. 16, 2009, at her home. She was born Oct. 13, 1930, in Newkirk, Okla., to Henry Joe and Nora Rettig Backhaus.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Parks; a daughter, Karen Sage and her husband Michel of Rogers; a sister, Berdena Brewer of Rogers; and a grandson.
Services were held Nov. 19 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Benton County Memorial Park.
Karen Marie Poppen
Karen Marie Poppen, 66, of Rogers died Nov. 18, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born March 19, 1943, in Clear Lake, S.D., to William F. and Ursula Evans Hunt.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Poppen; a daughter, Ruth Lopez and husband, Gerry, of Rogers; five sisters; and two brothers.
Services were held Sunday, Nov. 22, at Revolution Church in Rogers. Burial will be Wednesday at Albee Cemetery in Milbank, S.D. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
Margarita Ramirez
Margarita Barbosa Ramirez, 38, of Rogers died Nov. 18, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born May 17, 1971, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Jesus Isidro Barbosa and Ma Guadalupe Ramirez.
She was a member of the St. Raphael’s Catholic Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Juvencio Rodriguez; two sons, Francisco and Horacio Rodriguez, both of Springdale; three daughters, Denise Rodriguez, Jimena Rodriguez and Margarita Rodriguez, all of Springdale; two brothers, Josea Barbosa of Springdale and Fernando Barbosa of Rogers; three sisters, including Juana Barbosa of Springdale; and one grandchild.
Services were held Nov. 20 at St. Rapheal’s Catholic Church in Springdale. Burial followed in the Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
Charles Durian Walters
Charles Durian Walters, 72, of Lowell, died Nov. 21, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. He was born Feb. 25, 1937, in Refugio, Texas.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a computer specialist for National Cash Register. He was active within various community services.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Walters; three sons, Chris Walters, Perry Walters and Andrew Walters, all of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Michelle Mc-Dowell of Rogers and Kathy Layco of Gainesville, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at a later date and cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
Justin Taylor Wilson
Justin Taylor Wilson, 18, of Rogers died Nov. 20, 2009. He was born April 29, 1991, in Rogers to Kim Wilson and Cheryl Nunley Wilson.
Survivors include his parents, Kim and Cheryl Wilson; a brother, Jason Wilson and wife Jennifer of Rogers; a sister, Faith Wilson of the home; grandparents Derkey and Judy Wilson and Wes and Marie Nunley; two nephews, Tippin and Andrew Wilson; and a niece, Corra Wilson.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Faith Christian Fellowship in Rogers with interment to follow at Pea Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
