The City Council is ready to move forward with a sweeping plan to remake parking policy in the Dickson Street neighborhood. The changes are all geared toward raising the money needed to build a parking deck.

“The amount of revenue that we could generate with a very inexpensive parking rate is definitely enough that we could see a parking deck in the near future,” Sharon Crosson, Fayetteville parking and telecommunications manager, told the council on Tuesday.

Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan will present three council resolutions, which if passed, allows the administration to begin moving forward with drafting the necessary ordinances to allow the city to manage and ticket the private lots around Dickson Street.
