100 YEARS AGO Nov. 24, 1909 The annual convention of the Independent Telephone Association of Arkansas was held in this city today. It was decided to organize a big holding company to take all the securities held by the independents. This is to be done in order to improve the present exchanges and service and to extend to every part of the state in competition with the Bell company.
