Service for James Robert Burnett, 71, of Winslow, who died Sunday, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Winslow gymnasium. He was born April 8, 1938, in Fayetteville to Robert McKinley and Anna Howard Burnett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Burnett; and two brothers, Merle Burnett and Bill Burnett. Survivors include children Destry Burnett, Darrin Burnett and Eric Burnett, all of Winslow, and Regina Lopez of Stockton, Calif.; sisters Katherine Burnett of Altus, Virginia Harp and Betty Duffy, both of Farmington; and 12 grandchildren. CHEROKEE VILLAGE —Mrs. Melissa Bokker, age 57, of Cherokee Village, Ark., passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was born July 22, 1952, in Seattle, Wash., to Robert and Mary Anna (Helstern) Jones.

Mrs. Bokker married Dr. Paul Bokker on June 25, 2004, in Cherokee Village, Ark. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hardy, Ark. Melissa was a well-known community artist who taught in Northwest Arkansas for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and served in many ways, including administrative board chair, Sunday school teacher, worship chair and delegate to the annual conference. She was a devoted and loving wife, daughter and mother. She enjoyed the outdoors, in particular gardening, and was a wonderful cook.

Mrs. Bokker is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul Bokker of Cherokee Village; a daughter, Brooke Siegel and husband Glen of Nashville, Tenn.; her mother, Mary Anna Jones of Cherokee Village; and a sister, Laurel Howard of St. Charles, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Cherokee Village. Rev. Brien Nix Hall will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hardy United Methodist Scholarship Fund.

––––– • –––––PIEDMONT, Okla. — Ruby Faye Holt, 76, passed away on Nov. 15, 2009, in Piedmont, Okla. She was born to Lawrence H. Reed and Grace Arnold Reed on Oct. 16, 1933, in Peno, Okla.

Ruby graduated Fort Smith Northside High School in 1951. She worked as the physical director for the department of pathology at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, was a real estate agent with Century 21 and Harris-McHaney from 1979 to 2006.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Terry Holt and wife Katherine, Monte Holt and Barry Holt; nine grandchildren; and one brother, Larry Reed; and one sister, Thelma Reid.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith, Ark.
