WASHINGTON COUNTY Gerald Dean Downum
BELLA VISTA — Gerald Dean Downum, 85, of Bella Vista died Nov. 20, 2009, at Concordia Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 5, 1924, in Springdale to Forrest J. and Una Jones Downum.
He served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart medal.
He is survived by a son, Dean Downum, of Long Beach Calif.; two daughters: Carol Dalley of Long Beach and Nancy Burks of Grants Pass, Ore.; a brother, Gene Downum of Springdale; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
Irene Haskins
WEST FORK — Irene Haskins, 76, of West Fork died Nov. 10, 2009, in West Fork. She was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Ball Creek, the daughter of James and Grace Hawkins Ball.
She had worked as a watress in the restaurant business for a number of years.
She attended the West Fork Assembly of God and was a member of the Fayetteville Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Haskins.
She is survived by three sons, Ronnie Curry, Mike Shea and Mark Shea, all of Fayetteville; one daughter, Jodie Easter of West Fork; one sister, Fern Taylor of Farmington; 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor W.C. Blanton officiating.

Goldie Bell Hopper
FAYETTEVILLE — Goldie Bell Hopper, 95, of Fayetteville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 20, 2009, in Fayetteville. She was born July 10, 1914, in the Mount Olive community, the daughter of Robert M. and Chloe Counts Bell.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Alabama City, Ala., and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sue Hopper, granddaughters Sheila Pergeson, Sabrina Hopper and husband, Rick, and great grandson, Orey Scott Hopper.
She is survived by her children, Dian Holmes and husband Dudley of Fayetteville, Priscilla Pergeson and husband Robert of Prairie Grove and Dan Hopper and wife Joyce of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glen Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

William Edgar Goff Jr.
KINGSTON — William Edgar Goff Jr., 79, of Kingston died Nov. 19, 2009, at his home. He was born Dc. 8, 1929, at McHue, the son of William Edgar and Opal Chisam Goff. He had retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after more than 30 years of service as an air traffic controller.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United State Navy and had also served in the Army National Guard and the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of the Huntsville Missionary Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school for over 47 years.
He was also a member of the Ozark Trails Studebaker Drivers Club.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie Illuzzi Goff of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, William E. Goff III and Mary Goff of Cody, Wyo., and Kenneth A. and Becky Goff of Farmington; five grandchildren, Rachel Goff of Fort Smith, Mackenzie Goff and Lauren Goff of Farmington, and Lydia Goff and Sarah Goff of Cody, Wyo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Huntsville Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bud Pulley officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, brashersfuneralhome.net., of Huntsville.
Pallbearers will be Larry Bates, Cliff Wells, Archie Czarnikow, Jason Rose, Patrick Pulley and Jonathon Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Rowland, Dean Stanphill, Dewey Mott, Raymon Parson, Charles McLoud, Allen Whittle and Jeff Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Tommy Joe McLoud
ROGERSVILLE, Mo. — Tommy Joe McLoud, 56, of Rogersville died Nov. 18, 2009, at Cox Medical Center-South in Springfield, Mo. He was born Sept. 23, 1953, in Springdale to Harvey Joe and Virginia Simpson McLoud.
He was the owner of McLoud and Company in Springfield.
Survivors include his wife, Jill Marie Huettenrauch McLoud of the home; two sons, Joseph Brandon McLoud and Jason Thomas McLoud, both of the home, and a sister, Pamela McLoud of Huntsville.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at the Second Baptist Church in Springfield and 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Alabam Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1019, Huntsville, AR 72740-1019.
