BRIEFLY: Women Voters Hold Luncheon

FAYETTEVILLE The League of Women Voters of Washington County will host a Legislative Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Washington Regional Education Center in the Pat Walker Center for Seniors, 12 E. Appleby Road.
Participants will have the opportunity to get better-acquainted with their legislative representatives and to hear about committee assignments and goals for the next legislative session.
The League of Women Voters is a multi-issue organization whose mission is to encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in the government and to influence public policy through education and advocacy.

Support Group
Now Forming BELLA VISTA - A PolycysticOvarian Syndrome Support Group is forming. Meetings will be held the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Village Insurance Community Room.

Garden Club
Convenes Dec. 1 ROGERS - The Garden Club of Rogers will have its December meeting at The Center for Nonprofits, 1200 W. Walnut St., downstairs in the auditorium, at 10:30 a.m.
Dec. 1. The cost of the meal will be $8.25 per person, including tip. Reservations are required.
The program, “Rules of Gardening,” will be presented by Gerald Klingaman, professor of horticulture (emeritus). In his talk, he will provide a lighthearted look at some of the most important rules for the gardener.
Individuals are encouraged to bring a decorated box, ornament or decoration for the silent auction.
Lunch reservations are required.

Writers To Meet
Dec. 3 At Bank SILOAM SPRINGS - The Siloam Springs Writers Group will hold its Christmas program at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Signature Bank Community Room across from Walmart.
Wally Smith and “New Harvest” will provide a musical program. Members are asked to bring an unwrapped toy or article of clothing for the Manna Center. The December assignments are for prose - an early Christmas memory, and poetry - an inspirational poem. Members are asked to bring finger foods for refreshments.
Missouri Club Meets Dec. 5 BELLA VISTA - The Missouri Club’s annual Christmas dinner is Dec. 5.
Social hour will be at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. at the Bella Vista Country Club.

Women’s Chorus Sets Performances BELLA VISTA - Upcoming performances for the Bella Vista Women’s Chorus include:

4 p.m. Dec. 4 during a meeting of AARP Chapter 109 at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista
4 p.m. Dec. 9 in the main building of Concordia of Bella Vista
1:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at Elm Tree Elementary School in Bentonville
2:30 p.m. Dec. 17. at Concordia Catered Living in Bella Vista
9:45 a.m. Dec. 18 at a Bella Vista Welcome Club meeting in the Bella Vista Country Club.
Relatives and friends of residents at the care centers are welcome to attend the performances.
The chorus is under the direction of Larry Zehring and accompanied by John Robertson.

Slates Concert BELLA VISTA - The Bella Vista Men’s Chorus will present a free concert “Christmas in Bella Vista with Bells and Bows” at 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Bella Vista Community Church.

4-H Club

Driver Class Slated Dec. 2
LifeSpring United Methodist Church will host an AARP Arkansas Driver Safety Class from 8:30 a.m.
to 1 p.m. Dec. 2. Designed for drivers age 50 and older,1 this 4- /2 hour format may qualify participants for savings on their automobile insurance premiums.
Participants should check with their insurance agents for specifics.
A $14 fee to cover the cost of materials is required.
AARP members qualify for a $2 discount if they provide their membership card and membership number.

Terry Band Will Perform
The 17-piece Terry Band of Cave Springs will perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista in honor of all veterans, particularly any Pearl Harbor survivors.
Survivors and their families are encouraged to attend and be recognized by Stephen Gray, chief military aide to 3rd District Rep. John Boozman, R-Rogers.
The show is free, and refreshments will be available and served by the Bella Vista POA. The event is sponsored by Veterans Council of Northwest Arkansas.
