FAYETTEVILLE Two Washington County bridges will be among 34 properties in 28 Arkansas counties to be considered for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
At its Dec. 2 meeting, the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will decide whether to nominate the Goff Road Farm Bridge and Bridge No. M2202 on Old Fayetteville Road near Prairie Grove.
The Goff Road bridge is a masonry arch deck bridge built around 1860 crossing an unnamed stream southeast of Fayetteville.
Bridge No. M2202 is a 1923 closed-spandrel, concrete arch bridge over the Little Red River.
The preservation program is the Department of Arkansas Heritage agency that identifies, evaluates, registers and preserves the state’s cultural resources.
