Pizza Robber Gets 20 Year In Prison

FAYETTEVILLE A 19-year-old Lowell man faces 20 years in prison after admitting he robbed a pizza delivery man at gunpoint.
David Aldon Hankins pleaded guilty this week to robbery and theft of property. He was sentenced before Washington County Circuit Judge William Storey to 30 years — 20 years in the Department of Correction and 10 years suspended.
He was accused on Jan. 9 of using a gun to rob a Eureka Pizza delivery man and stealing two pizzas, about $200 in cash, some checks and credit card receipts, said Washington County Deputy Prosecutor Amy Driver.
She said the Fayetteville Police Department did a good job tracking down the defendant. The delivery man noticed the robber had a baseball bat and police checked into another case where a bat was used and were eventually able to figure out who did it, she said.
“It was good detective work,” she said.
