SILOAM SPRINGS Springdale Central post Alex Rice had nine of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Warriors rallied past Stilwell, Okla., for a 50-46 win during the Monday’s action at the 33rd annual Allen Classic in Siloam Springs.
Tucker Lee added five points for the Warriors, who play Gravette on Wednesday in the second round of the Boys Gray Bracket. Gravette beat Fayetteville Ramay 31-28 behind 13 points by Matt VanOttelow. Quinn Simkins led Ramay with 10.
In other action, Fort Smith Chaffin beat Prairie Grove 43-24 in the Maroon Bracket and Rogers Heritage beat Shiloh Christian 55-37 in the Gray Bracket. Austin Herod had 21 to lead Heritage.
Taylor McPherson had 12 points to lead the Shiloh Christian girls past Heritage 45-34 in the Girls Gray Bracket. Erin Lundy had 12 for Heritage.
Ramay’s Mollie Brewer had 13 as the Lady Indians beat Gravette 47-21. Caylee Wright led Central with 14 points in a 56-21 win against Stilwell, Okla.
In the Girls Maroon Bracket, Prairie Grove beat Chaffin 48-16.
The tournament continues tonight with an eight-game lineup, including Siloam Springs-Lincoln girls and boys and Rogers-Westville, Okla., girls and boys.
