Businessman, Philanthropist Dies

SPRINGDALE — Lawrence H. Schmieding, 89, died Monday at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, according to Lance Taylor, with the Schmieding Foundation.
Schmieding’s donations established the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education in Springdale. He founded H.C. Schmieding Produce in 1961.
