Religious Facility Seeks Conditional Use Extension

It’s taken longer than expected for an group interested in opening a religious facility in the southeast quadrant of Bentonville to turn their vision to reality, but the group has not scrapped its plans.
On Tuesday, the Bentonville Planning Commission is expected to grant a conditional use permit extension for a religious facility to be located at 104 S.E. Sixth St. The renewal would be honored until November 2012. The planning commission granted applicant Clay Sears his original conditional use permit for the project last year.
The applicant is proposing five services per day, averaging four to five patrons per service, excluding Friday evening which would average about 35 patrons.
The planning commission is also expected to vote in favor of rezoning property currently under construction as Gilmore Park, the city’s newest neighborhood park, at 501 S.W. “D” St. The property currently has two zoning designations and must become one to conform to city regulations. The proposed zoning is single-family residential.
