Calvin C. Miller Jr.

LOWELL — Calvin C. Miller Jr., 51, of Lowell died Nov. 14, 2009, in Springdale. He was born Aug. 31, 1958, to Calvin C. Miller Sr. and Martha Sue Jones Miller.

He was a floor supervisor for George’s Inc., attended the Lowell Rotary Club and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Miller; his father of Rome, Ga.; three children, Michelle Doss of The Colony, Texas, Aimee Walton of Houston and Jonathan Durham of Fayetteville; five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.

Everett Leonard Bell

OSAWATOMIE, Kan. — Everett Leonard Bell, age 72, of Osawatomie, Kan., died Nov. 11, 2009, at his home with his loving daughters by his side.

Everett was born Oct. 2, 1937, in Pittsburg, Kan. He was the son of Oscar and Ruby C. (Eversoll) Bell.

Everett retired from his work as a pipefitter with the railroad in the fall of 1999.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and then the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from the Reserve of the United States Marine Corps on March 13, 1959. He entered the United States Army on Sept. 16, 1960, and was honorably discharged on Aug. 24, 1962.

He was united in marriage to Lela Faye Deaton on June 21, 1964, in Durham. They became the parents of two daughters. Lela preceded him in death on March 26, 1993.

He was married to Andrea (Snapp) Renick on March 12, 1994, in Osawatomie. They made their home in Osawatomie. Andrea preceded him in death on July 16, 2006.

He had many accomplishments in his life. He attended flying school and fire school. He was a firefighter and had been captain in Shawnee, Kan. He was also a paramedic. He was a volunteer for the Kansas Historical Society, the Frontier Twirlers Square Dance Club, the Miami County Airport Association and the Civil Air Patrol. He also enjoyed flying his airplane and riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lela; his second wife, Andrea; his brother, Arthur Bell and his sister, Rosie Sparks.

He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Mary and Mike Hansuld of LaCygne and Marsha and Mike Douglas of Shawnee; three stepsons, Neal Wheatley and his wife Robin of Paola, Nick Wheatley of Overland Park, and Scott Wheatley and his wife Cindy of Osawatomie; five grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren who kept his life busy; other relatives and friends.

He will lie in state after 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. Mr. Bell will then be taken to Arkansas where a visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Moore’s Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Moore’s Funeral Home followed by burial at the Combs Cemetery, Combs, Arkansas on Monday, Nov. 16 with military honors. Memorials are to the Combs Cemetery, Combs, Arkansas.

Warren D McCurley

ROGERS — Warren D McCurley, 89, of Rogers died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

Warren was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Dallas to the late Lewis and Martha (Kern) McCurley.

Warren was a WWII Veteran and a 32nd degree Mason. He and his wife were also very active in the 1st Baptist Church of Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 57 years, Edith.

Survivors include two sons, Larry McCurley of Los Angeles and Dennis McCurley and his wife Marlene of Seattle; one daughter, Joyce Wood of Springdale; one brother, Stanley McCurley and his wife Beverly of Medford, Okla.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Warren will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with interment to follow at 2 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Visitation will be the same day at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Katherine Tietjen

ROGERS — Katherine “Katie” Tietjen, 74, of Rogers died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at a local health care facility. She was born Sept. 24, 1935, to Cary Anderson and Bessie Gibson Anderson.

Katherine loved her family and enjoyed the many times when they would gather together and she could cook wonderful meals with them. She was “Nannie” to all who knew her. She was a wonderful Christian; each time the children left, she always reminded them to “Go with God.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldro Theodore Jackson Holt; two brothers and three sisters.

Katherine is survived by one son, Eldro Jessie Holt of Rogers; five daughters, Brenda Schrik and husband Chuck of Rogers, Cody Marie Schneck and husband Don of Rogers, Mary Jenny McGarrah and husband Rodney of Garfield, Yvonne Slubowski and husband Roger of Rogers, Susan Holt of Rogers; one sister, Alice Presser of Springdale; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Stillwell Cemetery east of Clarksville.

Memorials may be made in honor of Katherine Tietjen to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation, 800 Marshall St., Little Rock, AR 72207.

Glenn Robinson

LOWELL — Glenn Clayton Robinson, 78, of Lowell died Nov. 12, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale after a two-year struggle with cancer. He was born May 30, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa, to James T. and “Pearl” Cordie Robinson. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was an avid bass fisherman.

Survivors include five children, Jennene Snow and husband Kent, Glen Robinson and wife Pamela, all of Springdale, Mark Robinson, Robbie Robinson and Carol Ann Robinson, all of Washington; friend and former wife, Ellen Robinson; two sisters, Betty Gohn of Iowa, Shirley Vigar of Arizona; and three grandchildren, Joey, Luke and Faith Snow, all of Springdale.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 16, at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale. Cremation will follow. Online condolences may be sent to heritageofnwa.com.

Edna Finigan McDonald

ROGERS — Edna Finigan McDonald, 87, of Rogers died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Spokeplant to Edward Clark and Odessa Stepp Clark.

She graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Nursing, class of 1947, and worked as a registered nurse at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth for many years. She was an active member of the Rogers Christian Church. Edna enjoyed gardening, cooking and serving others. She was the happiest when the house was full and family was around. She was “the greatest” and will truly be missed.

Edna is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Vernon McDonald; three sons, Michael McDonald and wife Bobbette of Brownfield, Texas, Dennis McDonald and wife Deborah of Rogers, Mark McDonald and wife Shannon of Springdale; one daughter, Patricia Ann McKee and husband Guy of Boerne, Texas; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Rogers Christian Church with Minister Jack Galbraith officiating. Burial will be in the Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.

Howard Haimbaugh

EXETER, Mo. — Howard Leroy Haimbaugh Sr. of Exeter died Nov. 13, 2009, at his home. He was born on Oct. 12, 1933, in Plymouth, Ind., to Russell and Letha Walters Haimbaugh.

He enlisted in the National Guard in Michigan in 1957 and was employed by the Torrington Company in Tool Design for 18 years.

Survivors include his wife, Clarice M. Haimbaugh of Exeter; one son, Howard Haimbaugh Jr.; two daughters, Belinda Hambidge and Tracy L. Partridge; two stepsons, Mark and David DeLanghe; one stepdaughter, Darlene Borton; five grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-greatgrand daughters; three brothers; three sisters.
