President Barack Obama arrived in Singapore for a meeting of Asian-Pacific countries Saturday night seeking to ensure that the region remains firmly cemented to the United States, despite disparities in economic growth and the rising influence of China.
Obama, in Singapore for his first summit meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation countries, arrived a few hours early, in time to attend the end of a leaders’ dinner before plunging today into meet-and-greet sessions with regional leaders.
