Clinton “C.D.” Pike

FARMINGTON — Clinton D. “C.D.” Pike, 71, died Nov. 13, 2009, in Farmington.

He was born March 4, 1938, in Tulsa, Okla., to Clyde and Opal McCain Pike. He served on the Farmington Fire Department for 25 years, serving as Fire Chief for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Ann Wyse Pike; a son, David Clinton Pike and wife, Karen, of Farmington; a daughter, Sandra Kay Mahaffey and husband Mark of Fayetteville; one brother; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Farmington Fire Department.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Farmington Volunteer Fire Department or Building Fund for planned Farmington Sports Complex, P.O. Box 150, Farmington, AR 72730.

Arrangements are by Luginbuel Funeral Chapel of Prairie Grove.

Lela Barron

FAYETTEVILLE — Lela Barron, 96, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, in Fayetteville.

She was born Dec. 16, 1912, in Delaney, the daughter of William Lee and Anna Callaway Anderson. She attended Huntsville State Vocational School, University High School and the University of Arkansas, and taught elementary school in Madison County.

She was a member of the Sequoyah United Methodist Church and a past president of the Washington County Home Extension Clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Barron; one son, Pat Philip Barron in 1997; and nine brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Katrina Barron Exner of South Bend, Ind., Michelle Barron of St. Louis; five great-grandchildren, Zane and Rory Exner of South Bend, Ind., Thorn, Kira and Serenity Barron, all of St. Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to the caregivers that made her last few years very peaceful and tranquil.

Fneral services will be at 10 a.m Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Russell officiating. Burial will be following the service at 2 p.m. at the Walnut Grove Cemetery near Crosses.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at the funeral home.

Patricia Arlene Hammock

SILOAM SPRINGS — Patricia Arlene Hammock, 56, of Siloam Springs, died Nov. 12, 2009, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Stillwater, Okla., to Vernon Hammock and Esther Crane Hammock.

She attended Oklahoma State University’s Institute of Technology in Okmulgee and moved to Siloam Springs four years ago from Florida.

Survivors include two sons; her parents of Siloam Springs; two brothers, including Randy Hammock of Siloam Springs; and two sisters, including Julie Biswell of Prairie Grove.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Wasson Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Reba Sherwood

FAYETTEVILLE — Reba Laverne Childress Sherwood, 87, formerly of Morrilton, died Nov. 12, 2009, in Fayetteville.

She was born April 6, 1922, in Formosa to Houston and Lizzie Price Childress. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Ron Sherwood of Springdale; one brother; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton.
