A McDonald County, Mo., inmate walked away from the jail Friday morning.
Sheriff Robert Evenson said caution be used by anyone coming in contact with Wayne “Woody” Salwasser. Evenson warned Salwasser could be armed.
Salwasser, 36, walked away from the jail between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., Evenson said.
Salwasser was in jail on a forgery charge.
Evenson also said Salwasser has ties to Neosho, Mo., and Joplin, Mo., and Tulsa, Okla.
Salwasser is described as 6 feet, 3 inches, 220 pounds with blond hair, green eyes, a shaved head and a partial goatee.
It is not known what Salwassar is wearing, Evenson said.
