Compton Addresses University Educators

Bentonville School District Superintendent Gary Compton spoke to about 60 educators, administrators and graduate students Friday as part of the University of Arkansas’ Department of Education Reform 2009-10 lecture series.

Compton’s lecture “The Bentonville Buffet: The Cool Things We Do” touched on several innovations in teaching and administration Compton has implemented during his tenure as superintendent.

Compton emphasized his belief a school district, like any other enterprise, must keep reevaluating itself in order to remain relevant. Compton referred to a photograph of a Hummer, the high-priced SUV produced for several years by General Motors.
