Philip Louis Vilella

ROGERS — Philip Louis Vilella, 42, of Rogers, died Nov. 12, 2009, in Rogers. He was born July 30, 1967, in Erie, Pa., to Angelo and Janet Reid Vilella.

He was a member of the Catholic Church, a Mason and owner of Professional Tree Service

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Thomas Vilella; his mother, Janet; two brothers, including Frederick “Fred” Joseph of Rogers; two sisters; a step-brother; and several step-children.

Burial will be at St. Gregory Cemetery in Pennsylvania.

Paul Presley

FAYETTEVILLE — Paul Edwin Presley, born March 20, 1976, in Fayetteville to parents Larry Brent and Marth Searcy Presley, died Nov. 9, 2009, in Las Vegas in an automobile accident.

Survivors include his parents, Larry and Martha Presley of Fayetteville; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice Presley Bodnar and Paul Bodnar of La Crescenta, Calif.; grandmother, Eunice Viola Presley of Bentonville; aunt, Betty Spring of Bentonville; uncle and aunt, Jim and Diane Presley of Bella Vista; uncle and aunt, Alan and Kaye Presley of Noel, Mo.; and many cousins, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Kathleen Searcy and uncle, Charles Dean Crabtree.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Bentonville and First Christian Church of Fayetteville.

A private internment service will be held before the memorial service.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 807 SE 14th St., Bentonville.

J.L. Bunch

ODESSA, TEXAS — J.L. Bunch, 84, of Odessa died Nov. 12, 2009, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Fluvanna, Texas, to Robert Lee and Willie Cox Bunch.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Solace during World War II as an operating room technician. He worked for Rexene for 10 years and many years in the oil industry.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Bunch; two sons; three daughters, including Viah Goodlett of Bentonville; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Dunn Cemetery in Dunn, Texas.

Patricia Arlene Hammock

SILOAM SPRINGS — Patricia Arlene Hammock, 56, of Siloam Springs, died Nov. 12, 2009, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Stillwater, Okla., to Vernon Hammock and Esther Crane Hammock.

She attended Oklahoma State University’s Institute of Technology in Okmulgee and moved to Siloam Springs four years ago from Florida.

Survivors include two sons; her parents of Siloam Springs; two brothers, including Randy Hammock of Siloam Springs; and two sisters, including Julie Biswell of Prairie Grove.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Wasson Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Dorothy Mae Wittenberg Kurtz

BELLA VISTA — Dorothy Mae Wittenberg Kurtz, 83, of Bella Vista went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at her home in Bella Vista. She was born Sept.18, 1926, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to Alfred E. Wittenberg and Clara A. Meinberg Wittenberg.

She was raised and educated in Wisconsin Rapids at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran School and Lincoln High School. After graduating high school, she was employed by Consolidated Papers, working her way up to assistant to the president.

Dorothy married Robert Henry Kurtz on June 8, 1963, in Wisconsin Rapids. They moved to Prairie Village, Kan., where she worked for the city of Prairie Village. They moved to Bella Vista in August 1986.

She enjoyed golf, swimming, and quilting. She was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bentonville where she was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and was also a Lutheran Braille Worker for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Bob; her first husband, Durward Baumel; stepdaughter, Susan J. Kurtz; and granddaughter, Molly S. Culbertson.

Survivors include daughter, Debra C. Kraft and husband Bradford of Bella Vista; daughter, Karen L. Culbertson of Overland Park, Kan.; son, Robert J. Baumel and wife Sandra of Brooklyn, Wis.; one stepson, Lawrence R. Kurtz and wife Christine of Overland Park; sister, Elizabeth Prebbanow of Inkom, Idaho; sister, Elaine Davis of Wisconsin Rapids; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1602 NW 12th Street, Bentonville. The funeral service will be held immediately thereafter at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Held officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista.

Memorials may go to Faith Lutheran Church.

Raymond Arnold Kunze

BELLA VISTA — Raymond Arnold Kunze, 74, of Bella Vista, died Nov. 12, 2009, at his home. He was born June 4, 1935, in Hinckley, Minn., to John and Ella Hulke Kunze.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a bricklayer and stone mason.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Bell Kunze; three sons; a daughter; a stepdaughter; a brother; a sister; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Nov. 17 at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, and at 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hinckley.

Burial will be at Morningside Gardens in Coon Rapids, Minn.

Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
