Jeremy Cagle
EVANSVILLE — Jeremy Jackson Cagle, 31, died Nov. 8, 2009, at Stilwell Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, Okla. He was born July 22, 1978, in Fayetteville to Harley Ray Cagle and Patty Gross.
He worked for the Lincoln School District.
Survivors include his wife, Gina Cagle; two daughters, Malorie Cagle and Addie Cagle; father, Harley Cagle of Lincoln; mother, Patty Gross of Springdale; two brothers, Harley Cagle and Jamey Cagle, both of Fayetteville; a sister, Melinda Hammons of Fayetteville; paternal grandmother, Doris Cagle of Fayetteville; and paternal great-grandmother, May Spencer of Fayetteville.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln High School Auditorium. Burial will be in the Academy Cemetery in Evansville.
Arrangements were by Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.
Paul Presley
FAYETTEVILLE — Paul Edwin Presley, 33, died Nov. 9, 2009, in Las Vegas. He was born March 20, 1976, in Fayetteville to Larry Brent and Martha Searcy Presley.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Bentonville and First Christian Church of Fayetteville.
Survivors include his parents of Fayetteville; one sister; and grandmother, Eunice Viola Presley of Bentonville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Bentonville. Burial will be private. Cremation was by Valley Funeral Home of Las Vegas.
Betty Littlewood
SPRINGDALE — Betty Jean Littlewood, 77, died Nov. 9, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born March 7, 1932, in Portland, Ore., to James and Edith Denney Melton.
She was a self-taught artist and enjoyed caring for her family.
Survivors include three children, Barry Dean Saunders and wife, Cathy, of Las Vegas, Brian William Saunders of Garden Grove, Calif., and Laura Marie Wilson and husband, Tony, of Springdale; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale.
David Taylor Sr.
MORRILTON — David Allen Taylor Sr., 43, died Nov. 5, 2009. He was born Aug. 29, 1967, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Samuel Robert and Janice Louise Jagadzinski Taylor.
He was the section director for the Arkansas Department of Health, EMS & Trauma Sections.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Taylor of Morrilton; two sons, David Taylor Jr. and wife, Ashley, and Tommy Benton and wife, Tonya, all of Prairie Grove; two daughters, Mandy Gottsponer and husband, Adam, of Morrilton and Ginny Barnhouse and husband, Brad, of Hector; grandmother, Mary Reed of West Fork; one brother; one sister, Tonya Taylor of Rogers; and five grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Morrilton First Baptist Church. Burial was in Lone Grove Cemetery in St. Vincent Community.
Loretta McClain
SPRINGDALE — Loretta McClain, 84, died Nov. 9, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Waukesha, Wis., the daughter of Shannon C. and Catherine Elanor Nicholson Follett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. McClain in 1991.
She was retired from General Telephone Co. of California. She was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was in the Fleet Reserve Association. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Paige and husband, Ed, of Springdale and Kathleen McClain of Fayetteville; two brothers, Charles Follett and James Follett, both of Waukesha, Wis.; a sister, Ella Mueller of Waukesha, Wis.; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Moore’s Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Sumner L. Cowan
VALDOSTA, GA. — Sumner L. Cowan Sr. (Ret.), 27, of Valdosta, Ga., passed away Nov. 7, 2009.
Sumner was born Sept. 29, 1982, in Fayetteville. He graduated from Schaumburg High School in Schaumburg, Ill., with the Class of 2001, and attended Harper College in Palatine, Ill., before entering the U.S. Air Force. During his enlistment he had served in Balad and Kirkuk, Iraq. He was on the ground during the initial elections in Baghdad and for a time was embedded with the U.S. Army. Sumner had been assigned to the 823rd Security Forces Squadron at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., since 2005, and was medically retired in April 2009 due to injuries sustained in Iraq. Sumner proudly and loyally served his country and had received many honors, awards and accommodations for his dedicated service. Most recently he was attending Georgia Military College in Valdosta.
Sumner is survived by his parents and stepparents, KerrieAnn Mayes-Skuran and husband, Craig Skuran, of Schaumburg, Ill., and Thomas L. Cowan and wife, Selma, of Woodbridge, Va.; one sister, Angelica Drumm of Woodbridge, Va.; two brothers, Thomas L. Cowan II and Ernest D. Cowan of Woodbridge, Va.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; stepgrandparents, Victor and Mildred Skuran of Glenview, Ill., and Generosa Nery of Angeles City, Philippines.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Louise (Mack) Mayes; his paternal grandparents, Harold and Alma (Pyle) Cowan; and stepgrandfather, Ernesto David.
Sumner’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with his cousin the Rev. Don Cowan officiating. Internment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery.

William Vaughn
JOPLIN, Mo. —William J. “Bill” Vaughn, age 82, Joplin, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Freeman Hospital after an extended illness.
Bill was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Black Oak.
He worked in the trucking industry all of his working life and he owned and operated his own business for many years before his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
At his request, Bill has been taken for cremation and no formal services are planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
