Anne Pressly was beaten so badly she suffered catastrophic brain damage that led to her death, the Arkansas deputy chief medical examiner testified Tuesday, as testimony wrapped up in the capital murder trial of Curtis Lavelle Vance.

The six men and six women who have been hearing evidence in Vance’s trial for the past week will begin deliberations today, without hearing directly from Vance. The 29-year-old Marianna man is charged with capital murder, rape, residential burglary and theft in the October 2008 beating death of Pressly, 26, a Little Rock TV news anchor.

Closing arguments are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. today at the Pulaski County Courthouse. If jurors convict Vance of capital murder, the trial ...
