— Eagle Scouts Hosts Gathering

All adult Eagle Scouts are invited to attend a Gathering of Eagles beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday at Aloft Hotel, 1103 S. 52nd St. in Rogers to become acquainted or reacquainted with scouting in Northwest Arkansas and to network with other Eagle Scouts in the area.

TheatreSquared Slates Gala

TheatreSquared will host a Gala for Education, supporting arts-in-education outreach for students and teachers throughout Northwest Arkansas, from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 20 at Teatro Scarpino.

The celebration, catered by Chef David Lewis, will feature a special cabaret performance by Broadway veteran and Fayetteville native Robert Sutton. Louise Schaper, outgoing executive director of Fayetteville Public Library, will be presented with the 2009 Premier Award.

Dress is business-casual. Sponsorship levels, which include a table of eight at the event, range from $750 to $7,500. Individual tickets are available for $100. Seating is limited to 180 guests.

All proceeds from the event will benefit T2 for Education.

Writing Session Slated

“Gratefully Yours: Thankfulness and the Writing Life” is the theme of the Occasional Saturday Writing Practice on Saturday.

The free workshop will meet from 10 a.m.

to noon at a new location, Nightbird Books, 205 W. Dickson St. in Fayetteville.

No advance registration is required.

Writing Practice springboards will be based on Robert A. Emmons’ research studies and books.

June Jefferson of the Invitation To Write Project and the LifeWriting Memoir Series will lead the workshop.

Search And Rescue Members Needed FAYETTEVILLE - The Washington County Search and Rescue Team is seeking volunteers to complete search and rescue training in February.

The group acts as a volunteer component of the Washington County Department of Emergency Management. Team members search for lost residents in rural or wilderness settings. Units within the team include a mounted division, a K-9 squad, a ground team and communications and logistics. Skilled computer operators are always needed.

Training is set for Feb. 5-7 and Feb. 19-21.

Volunteers must submit an application and are subject to a background check.
