LITTLE ROCK Jon Etienne Mourot
Where I live: Kyle Boswell and I live in a French country-style house in Leawood. We gutted the house when we bought it and we’re just now finishing up the final details.
Occupation: I am a psychologist with Social Security Disability, a clinical consultant, and I have a private practice where I specialize in sex therapy. I am also coowner of Boswell Mourot Fine Art in the Heights on Kavanaugh.
My favorite space: My living room.
Why? I love the light in this room. We have large windows on three sides, which makes it a great placeto sit and read the morning paper and view our art. We have art from all over the world. Many of my favorite artists’ works hang here including Hans Feyerabend, Hugo Urlacher, Salvador Dali and Kevin Kresse. In addition, Kyle’s handblown glass is everywhere.
I also enjoy sitting in this room and watching a great horned owl that lives in the neighborhood. He is gorgeous and huge. It’s really the light and the connection to the outdoors that makes this room so special.
If I could do one thing to improve this space, I would: Do nothing. We put a lot of thought into creating this environment and I am content with it just the way it is.
