“(Wary) has performed very well for us all year,” Rogers coach Alan Rettman said. “(Wary) has been real accurate all year. His completion percentage is in the 60s. We have been in some close games this year and come out on the short end. This was a good way to end the year.”

Stokes Wenzler had two of the Mounties’ interceptions while Trevor Hampton had the other pick. Wenzler’s fi rst interception stopped a Heritage drive late in the fi rst halfwith the score tied at 7-7.

“You have to be opportunistic,” Rettman said. “(Wenzler) has come up big for us all year.”

Heritage coach Jason Upton said the War Eagles couldn’t overcome the three interceptions. “We had to overcome that and we didn’t,” Upton said. “We fought hard, but Rogers is a good football team.”

Five di◊erent Rogers receivers caught passes, with Hampton leading the way with two receptions for 88 yards and two scores, including a 74-yard catch and run for a TD that gave the Mounties a 14-7 lead.
