Man pleads guilty to sexual indecency

— A Rogers man was placed on state supervised probation after he admitted to exposing himself to a 15-year-old girl.

Michael Rice, 43, pleaded guilty Thursday to sexual indecency with a child. He pleaded guilty under a plea agreement Drew Miller, his attorney, reached with Deputy Prosecutor Joni Rose.

Rice was arrested June 24. He was originally charged with raping the girl, but the charge was later reduced.

He admitted to exposing himself to the girl when questioned by Circuit Judge Robin Green.

The girl was not present for the proceedings, but Rose told Green the girl was in favor of the plea agreement.

Green accepted the plea agreement and Rice’s guilty plea. She followed the sentencing recommendations of the plea agreement. Rice was placed on six years state-supervised probation. He also must serve 119 days in the Benton County Jail.

If Rice violates any terms of the probation, he could face up to six years in prison.

Rice will be required to register as a sex offender and must participate in an outpatient sex o◊ender treatment program at Ozark Guidance Center in Springdale.

Rice was ordered not to have any contact with the girl, and he also can not have any unsupervised contact with any children except for his son. He also must pay $1,420 in court costs.
