Veterans Day Event Set In Bella Vista
BELLA VISTA BIG BAND TO HONOR HEROES WITH DANCE SATURDAY

BELLA VISTA There will be a Veterans Day celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans Wall of Honor.
The event is sponsored by the Marshall S. Sayner American Legion post and the Robert M. Sterrett Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
The speaker will be Bernie Skoch, a retired Air Force brigadier general. Patrioticmusic will be performed by the Bentonville High School Band.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Riordan Hall.
Other events for Veterans Day include:
The Bella Vista Big Band will present an Honor the Veterans dance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista.
Attendees may arrive at7 p.m. for a free dance lesson by Danceandswing.biz.
A singles’ table will be available.
Tickets are $10 per person at the door.

Ambassadors for Christ Academy invites veterans and their families to join in the second annual Veterans Day “USO Canteen” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The school’s choir and drama team will perform music and skits in a canteentype setting. Refreshmentswill be served.
Admission is free. Organizers encourage all veterans and their families to attend.
The academy is off Benton County 40 at 8579 W. Ford Springs Road in Bentonville.

Bella Vista Community TV will air a program in honor of the nation’s veterans.
A video of the 2008 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival will be broadcast at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 11, and at 6:30 p.m. Nov.15 on Cox Cable channel 16.
All U.S. veterans and active duty military personnel with proof of current or former military service will eat free at all Applebee’s nationwide on Veterans Day. Proof of service includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform.
