BELLA VISTA BELLA VISTA — An AARP Driver Safety class will be from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd.
The class will explore the changes that occur in vision, hearing, and reaction time as people age. The class also will provide useful driving safety tips for handling these changes. A materials fee of $14 is payable at the class; AARP members with a current membership card will receive a $2 discount.

Library Hosts
Talk By Author
FAYETTEVILLE — The Fayetteville Public Library will host an author talk and book signing for “Boom Town: How Wal-Mart Transformed an All-American Town into an International Community” at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Marjorie Rosen will discuss her book and sign copies. A reception with some of the people interviewed for the book will follow.
The event will be in the library’s Walker Community Room.
The talk is free and open to the public.

Spaghetti Feed Slated For Friday
GARFIELD — The Northeast Benton County Volunteer Fire Department will host an “all-you-can-eat” spaghetti feed fundraiser on Friday.
The event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Northeast Benton County Community Center, 17823 Marshall St. (U.S. 62) in Garfield.
Spaghetti, salad, bread and a drink will be offered for $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 12. Those younger than 5 will eat free.
All proceeds go to the building fund for the fire station on Posey Mountain.
Poker Tournament Planned Nov. 21
A poker tournament is slated for 1 p.m. Nov. 21 at Hutch’s Sports Bar and Grill. The event will benefit Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma’s Fayetteville Health Center. Cost is $20 per entry fee per player. Information: 443-7791.

Club Celebrates
80 Years
ROGERS — The Garden Club of Rogers will celebrate its 80th year with a birthday party meeting and meal at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the basement of the Center for Nonprofits, 1200 W. Walnut St.
Participants are instructed to take the elevator to the basement level, go to the end of the long hall and turn right onto the last hall to get to the meeting room. The cost of the meal will be $8.25 per person, including tip, and reservations are required.
Guest speaker Tom Dillard will present the program “Arkansas Landscape History” about gardening on the frontier and the arrival of designed landscapes during the Victorian era. The horticulture committee will present unusual plant types as door prizes.

Hears Reporter
FAYETTEVILLE — The Whodunits Mystery Club will meet at noon Nov. 14 at the Fayetteville AQ Chicken Restaurant. The guest speaker will be freelance court reporter Rebecca Sanderson of Sanderson Court Reporting, who will discuss court reporting, its different types and her wide array of assignments. She’ll describe her training, bring special reporting equipment to show how she performs her job, as well as tell incidents and anecdotes from her 20 years of experience. She will also bring a fellow reporter to contribute, and they will welcome questions.
The Whodunits club is for all who are interested in mystery, true crime and how the law works. Newcomers are welcome.

Visits Museum
The Ladies Day Out group will visit the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in downtown Springdale on Nov. 17. Afterward, participants will head to The Crumpet Tea Room and Restaurant inside the Interiors Galleria for lunch off the menu. Participants will meet for carpooling at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot across from the Town Center, just to the right of the Evangelical Free Church.

Hosts Fundraiser
ROGERS — Apple Blossom Retirement Community and the American Cancer Society are teaming up in the fight against cancer through Holiday Retirement’s “Move For A Cure” promotion.
Apple Blossom will host a special event “It’s A Family Affair” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 14 to help make a difference in the lives of families and friends affected by cancer. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with a “rock-a-thon.” Healthy fare will be served for dinner at 12:30 p.m. Special guest speaker Joel Nutt will share the story of his battle with cancer at 3 p.m. There will be music entertainment, educational opportunities and more. Business Collects Food Donations
Prudential Northwest Arkansas Real Estate in Bentonville will collect donations for Helping Hands in Bentonville until Nov. 21. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The nonprofit agency is in need of nonperishable food such as canned goods, cereal, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and crackers. Roberds Center Collecting Items
The Roberds Wellness and Pain Relief Center in Fayetteville is collecting canned and dried foods by Nov. 19 for Thanksgiving. The donations will aid Peace at Home Family Shelter.
