Former police officer sentenced for sex crime

BENTONVILLE A former Rogers police officer who admitted to sexually abusing a teenage girl has been sentenced to four years in prison.
A Benton County judge sentenced 27-year-old Shane Knaust Wednesday. Knaust pleaded guilty to sexual indecency with a minor in March.
The girl was 15 in January 2008 when she first reported that Knaust had abused her two or three years earlier.
Knaust was a dispatcher at the time of the abuse and was a Rogers police officer when the girl came forward.
