ROGERS The Rogers Fire Department awarded three of its firefighters with service commendations Wednesday for their efforts in a Little Flock apartment fire Sunday.
Firefighters Joseph Jerabeck, Jackie Slyter and Eric Kincy were commended for their efforts to - although alone at the scene - quell a fire and search for possible victims in an apartment complex at 3301 N. Dixieland Road.
"The crew performed an aggressive attack and search, while other units were yet to arrive on the scene, knocking the fire down, preventing further extension and assuring that the residents of the apartment had been evacuated," department spokesman Michael Dean said in a news release.
