NW Arkansas metro jobless rate hits 6.1% The unemployment rate in the Fayetteville-Rogers-Springdale metropolitan area was 6.1 percent in June, the first time in 19 years of records that it has exceeded 6 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said Wednesday. The area had an unemployment rate of 5.5 percent in May.
