Feces found in campus elevator
Posted: July 30, 2009 at 6:54 a.m.
FAYETTEVILLE University of Arkansas police are seeking a suspect accused of defecating in an elevator in the Harmon Avenue Parking Facility.
UAPD spokesman Gary Crain said the incident occurred between 12:01 a.m. and 12:18 a.m. Sunday.
"A staff member was going to his vehicle and discovered it when he got on the elevator," he said.
UA police dealt with two similar incidents in the past, but investigators don't know if they are related.
In March of 2006, a custodian entered the men's restroom on the fifth floor of Kimpel Hall and discovered that someone had urinated and left feces in front of a toilet. The custodian also found sinks, faucet handles and soap dishes smeared in feces. When the custodian got to the second floor, she reported finding two trash cans inthe hallway that someone had defecated in.
In July, of that same year, university police responded to the Arkansas Union after a staff member reported finding fecal matter in the corner of the break room.
No suspects were ever linked with either incident, nor have police identified anyone tied with the most recent report.
Those with any information can contact UAPD at 575-2311.
