Tontitown Grape Festival opens Tuesday
The 111th Tontitown Grape Festival is set for 4:30 p.m.-midnight Tuesday and Aug. 5, 9 a.m.-midnight Aug. 6-7, 7 a.m.-midnight Aug. 8 in downtown Tontitown.
The event includes a carnival, free live music, an arts and crafts fair and spaghetti dinners, served from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 6-8.
Carnival rides will run from 4:30 p.m.-midnight nightly, with armband nights Tuesday and Aug. 6.
The annual grape stomp will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Aug. 5. Rick Schaeffer will crown the 111th Queen Concordia at 9 p.m. Aug. 7.
Live music is slated to start at 7 p.m. nightly with performances by Kelly Road on Tuesday, Highway 101 on Aug. 5, Mark Wills on Aug. 6, Maud Crawford on Aug. 7 and Ty Herndon on Aug. 8.
Other festival events include the yearly 5K Run for the Grapes at 7 a.m. Aug. 8, followed by a kids fun run at 8 a.m.; book signings by Susan Young, outreach coordinator at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History and author of So Big, This Little Place: The Founding of Tontitown, Arkansas, 1898-1917, from 4-10 p.m. Aug. 6-8; and the grand prize presentation by Queen Concordia at 11 p.m. Aug. 8.

- ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE Art Walk set for Fayetteville
The Lighter Side of Dickson will host a First Thursday Art Walk from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 6 on the Fayetteville square.
Local galleries including DDP Gallery and the Fayetteville Underground will be open to visitors.
The Marshall Mitchell Band and Guta will offer up live music. A free screening of the local film War Eagle, Arkansas will begin at dusk in front of the Fayetteville Town Center.
