FAYETTEVILLE Fayetteville
Verna Jewel Graves, 100, of Fayetteville died Monday, July 27, 2009, in Springdale.
She was born Feb. 5, 1909, in Childress, Texas, to Ed Y. Forbes and Hester A. Clements Forbes. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, N.C.
Sur vivors include two daughters, Jennifer Bean of Fayetteville and Carolyn Bickel of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a brother, Bob Forbes of Marble Falls, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in Electra, Texas.
Memorials can be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.

Dennis Lee Spencer, 66, of Fayetteville died Monday, July 27, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Arrangements will be announced by Beard's Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Fayetteville.
Lincoln
Mamie J. Pridemore, 95, a resident of Lincoln, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
She was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of William Mattison and Cora Wallace Henry. Mamie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lincoln and the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education and a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Arkansas. After serving as an elementary teacher for 23 years, she served as principal of Lincoln Elementary for 11 years. After retirement from school work, she and her husband operated a real estate agency. They also owned and operated the Lincoln Motel for 44 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, G.R. "Dutch" Pridemore; four brothers; and four sisters.
Sur vivors include two daughters, Susan Box and her husband Terry of Fayetteville and Jeanne Cuzick and her husband Aubrey of Springdale; a grandson, Greg Cuzick of Farmington; three granddaughters, Kasey Benson of Springdale, Kelli Dougan of Springdale and Bradyn Box of Fayetteville; and six great-grandchildren, Haley Dougan, Alex Dougan, Blake Benson, Brock Benson and Brinley Benson, all of Springdale, and Bailey Cuzick of Farmington.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with the Rev. Randy Magar officiating. Interment will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, family ask that memorials be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 440 N. College Ave., Fayetteville, AR 72701.

Springdale
Lester Kilpatrick, 83, of Springdale died Saturday, July 25, 2009.
He was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Mountainburg to Marion and Julie Kilpatrick. He was a laborer for Tyson Foods.
Survivors include a son, Larry Kilpatrick of Springdale; a daughter, Frankie Lewis of Muskogee, Okla.; two brothers, Tommy Kilpatrick and Virgil Kilpatrick of Springdale; two sisters, Shirley Kilpatrick and Carolyn Kilpatrick; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
No visitation is planned.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Cemetery.

Dewey Carl Yeager, 80, of Springdale died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
He was born May 18, 1929, in Wewoka, Okla., to Roy and Mozell Yeager. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. He was a retired home builder.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mae Neal Yeager; two daughters, Carolyn Baker of Springdale and Peggy Stone of Pea Ridge; two brothers, Albert Yeager of Scott and Willie Yeager of Bloomington, Ill.; a sister, Venita Coop of Springdale; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Avenue Church of Christ with Gary Frazier and Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will be in Stuckey Cemetery.

Delaney
Danny Lee Patrick, age 68, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center.
He was born on July 8, 1941, the son of Dan Ervin Patrick and Audie M. Van-Brunt Patrick. He was a lifelong resident of the community of Delaney in Madison County. He was an educator and a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann of Delaney; a brother, Jerry Ray Patrick and his wife Linda of Delaney; a son, Jerry Lee Patrick of Delaney; a daughter, Tonya L. Patrick and her husband W.H. Taylor of Fayetteville; and two nieces. He is also survived by four beautiful granddaughters and two beautiful greatgranddaughters, who were the joy of his life.
Danny was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and there received a master's and a specialist degree in education. He was a successful and beloved coach of basketball at Huntsville School District and then at St. Paul School District for many years. He retired as superintendent of schools for St. Paul and then came out of retirement to serve a tenure as superintendent of Winslow School District.
In 1966, Danny became the youngest legislator in Arkansas, when he was elected the first Republican since Reconstruction to represent Madison and Carroll counties in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He continued a life of public service after retiring from school administration by serving on both the St. Paul School Board of Education and on the Washington and Madison County Drug Court Advisory Board. He owned and operated his own tax preparation business at his home in Delaney.
Danny was an avid and well-known musician and had shared his passion for rock 'n' roll piano with his family and community since he was a young man. Never idle, he still enjoyed making music and camping with his family and friends, traveling with his wife, and farming with his brother and son. He loved his neighbors and serving his community. Most of all, he liked being with his family and enjoyed the simplicities of a life well-lived.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. Paul High School gym. The Rev. Jasper Hankins and Judge Mahlon Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Patrick Cemetery.

Rogers
Harriett Ann Latty, 76, of Rogers died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at a local nursing home.
She was born April 13, 1933, in Benton County to Tom and Nora Mosley Patton. She was a member of the House of Prayer in Rogers. She worked for Daisy Manufacturing for more than 30 years.
She was preceded in death by two husbands.
Sur vivors include two sons, Bobby Bridges Sr. and Jimmy Bridges, both of Rogers; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at House of Prayer in Rogers with Pastor George Hagadone, Pastor Larry Taylor and Jake Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Buttrams Cemetery in Pea Ridge.
Pallbearers will be Jake Bridges, Jason Bridges, Bobby Bridges Jr., Scott Bridges, Jose Gonzalez, Bobby Bramlet, Chuck Thatate and Tony Lantz.

The Rev. John Holmes Jr. went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 25, 2009. He was 72 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Holmes Sr.; and his sister, Mary Davis of Fort Smith.
He was the beloved husband to Nancy Larkin Holmes for 52 years. John pastored numerous Southern Baptist churches upon graduating from Ouachita Baptist University in 1970. John was also a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Holmes; a son, Mark Holmes of Louisiana; his daughter, Paula Cheves, and son-in-law, Derek Cheves, of St. Louis; his son, Jimmy Holmes, and daughter-in-law, Michelle Holmes, of Siloam Springs; his grandchildren, Aubrie, Michelle, Peyton, Ethan, Canaan, Noah, Austin, Tyler and his faithful companion Hercules. John is also survived by his sister, Paula Evans of Hackett; his brother, Ray Holmes of Orlando, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Linda Womack of Barling. And he was a loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with the celebration of his life to be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
