Basketball Hogs to face Louisville, Baylor
Nonconference schedule includes 8 postseason teams from year ago

FAYETTEVILLE Louisville, Oklahoma, Texas and Alabama-Birmingham are the biggest tradition names on theArkansas Razorbacks' nonconference basketball schedule released Monday.
Rick Pitino, who coached Arkansas coach John Pelphrey when both were at the University of Kentucky, brings his Louisville Cardinals to St. Louis against Pelphrey's Razorbacks on Nov. 17.
Of Arkansas' 15 nonconference games, the neutral site game in St. Louis, a Dec. 2 visit to Norman,Okla. against the Oklahoma Sooners and a Dec. 30 game in Alltel Arena in North Little Rock against the Baylor Bears are the only games the Hogs won't play at Walton Arena in Fayetteville.
Actually, the Hogs play 14 nonconference games in Fayetteville if you include exhibitions Nov. 2 against Dillard and Nov. 5 against Lemoyne-Owen.
The regular-season nonconference games in Fayetteville in November include Alcorn State in the Nov. 15 season opener, Appalachian State on Nov. 20, Morgan State on Nov.24, East Tennessee State on Nov. 27 and South Alabama, the team Pelphrey coached before coming to Arkansas two years ago, Nov. 29.
In December at Walton Arena, the Razorbacks host Mississippi Valley State, Delaware State, Alabama State, Stephen F. Austin and Missouri State.
In two January games before the SEC season, the Hogs host Alabama-Birmingham on Jan. 2 and Texas on Jan. 5.
Before faltering 2-14 in theSEC, last season's Razorbacks went 12-1 in the nonconference season, losing only at Missouri State.
Texas, Oklahoma, and Stephen F. Austin all lost to the Hogs last season in Fayetteville. Last season's Hogs edged South Alabama in Mobile, Ala.
Louisville, Texas, Oklahoma, East Tennessee State, Stephen F. Austin and Morgan State all played in last March's NCAA Tournament. Louisville and Oklahoma reached the Elite Eight.
Alabama-Birmingham and Baylor both played in last spring's Postseason NIT with Baylor ascending to the championship game.
