Free Resume Sessions Set

FAYETTEVILLE - The Fayetteville Public Library will continue offering its resume review sessions in 2010.

Ellen Bruce will review and provide feedback on resumes during the drop-in feedback sessions.

The sessions will be offered on the first and second Thursdays of the month through March.

The review sessions will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library’s Reading Room, located on the library’s second floor.

Bruce has more than 20 years experience working in human relations, including managing her own placement company and working as a human resources consultant.

The review sessions are free and open to the public. Reservations are not available.

Line Dancing Classes Set

A seven-week line dancing workshop for tweens and teens ages 11 through 18 will meet weekly on Tuesday afternoons from 4 to 5 p.m.

in the Walmart Community Room of the Bentonville Public Library beginning on Jan. 12.

Participants will learn Cha Cha, Waltz, Irish Dance and Mambo moves to add to their boot scootin’ repertoire. All skill levels are welcome. The workshop is free, but registration is required. Class size is limited to 20 participants.

The Teen Book Group will meet at Rogers Public Library from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The effort is for grades 6 through 12.

Participants can discuss with other students whatever books they have been reading.

Agency Seeks Literacy Tutors

Literacy Council of Benton County is asking people to expand their 2010 New Year’s resolutions and help their fellow community members.

Nationwide, one in seven adults cannot read, write or do math above an elementary school level.

Literacy Council of Benton County is part of a national network of literacy organizations offering critical education programs that help American adults learn to read and write. Volunteers in the program help teach adults basic literacy, General Educational Development test preparation, math and English as a second language.

Literacy Council of Benton County is a member of ProLiteracy, the world’s largest organization of adult basic education and literacy programs, and is one of 1,200 community-based organizations that make up the ProLiteracy network.
