Lady War Eagles Fall In OT

Rogers Heritage fought back from an eight-point deficit to force overtime, but for the second consecutive day fell short in the Tate Boys Tire & Service Holiday Classic on Tuesday in Bartlesville, Okla.

Tulsa (Okla.) Will Rogers outscored Heritage 6-0 in overtime to claim a 37-31 victory.

It was the second straight tough loss for the Lady War Eagles, who lost in double overtime on Monday night.

Heritage turned up the defense in the second half, forcing turnovers with full-court pressure and a half-court trap.

The War Eagles were hurt in the extra period when senior Danielle Schillinger suffered an ankle injury early in overtime. Her status for today’s game is uncertain.

The War Eagles led 17-16 at halftime but never led in the fourth quarter.

Senior Hannah Hickman led Heritage with 12 points, including two 3-pointers.

Heritage will conclude play in the tournament at 11 a.m. today against either Skiatook, Okla., or Tulsa NOAH (Northeast Oklahoma Association of Homeschools).
