Springdale placed three players in double figures and hit free throws down the stretch to claim a 51-44 victory over McDonald County, Mo. in the girls division of the 55th annual Neosho Holiday Classic on Monday.
Tiffany Wiseley scored 17 points, while Jasmine Gilyard added 14 and Bailey Ott chipped in 11 for the Lady Bulldogs (6-4).
Springdale will now take on Fair Grove, Mo., at 6 p.m. today in the second round.
Lady Red’Dogs coach Scotty Person said he was happy with his team’s defense.
“I was proud of how we played, holding them to 11 points in the first half,” Person said.
