• –––––ROGERS — Fred Wetzler, 77, of Rogers, Ark., went to join the Lord on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009. Mr. Wetzler was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Pine Bluff, Ark., a son of the late Fred R. Wetzler Sr. and Peggy C u n n i n g h a m Wetzler.

Freddie was reared and educated in Lake Village, Ark. He was a 1950 graduate of Lake Village High School. He was a retired conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Freddie served in the United States Marines Corp during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW.

Freddie coached American Legion and Babe Ruth baseball for many years in Pine Bluff. He was Arkansas Commissioner of American Legion from 1988 to 1991. At the time of his death, he was still active in American Legion baseball.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Joe Carpenter and cousin, Jaynie Flemming. He is survived by his wife, Jessiann Ward Wetzler of Rogers; five sons, Fred W. Wetzler and wife Thuy of Wasilla, Alaska; Dean Wetzler and wife Shelley of Springdale; Fred McNeil and wife Wanda of Hamburg; Joey McNeil and wife Dawn of Paragould; and Danny McNeil and wife Debbie of Monticello; 11 grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Robinson’s Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Steve Fleming officiating.

• –––––SPRINGDALE — Miles Christian Henderson, 37, of Springdale died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009.

M e m o r i a l services were held Thursday, Dec. 17, in First Baptist Church chapel in Amarillo, Texas, with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo.

Miles Henderson was born Oct. 10, 1972, in Canadian, Texas. He graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo in 1991 and attended Amarillo College. He was a member of First Baptist Church before moving first to Austin, Texas, and then to Fayetteville, Ark.

He worked in restaurant management for most of his career, serving as GM of TGI Fridays restaurants in both Amarillo and Memphis, Tenn.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Gayle Henderson of Bella Vista; an aunt, Carole Kidwell of Dallas, Texas; two uncles, Jerry Henderson of Clearwater, Fla., and Paul Kidwell and wife Sally of Singapore; and two cousins, Jack Henderson and Sophia Kidwell.

• –––––BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. — Lori Dalphine Lowe Hamilton, 46, of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Lowell, Ark., passed away Dec. 26, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital after a sudden illness. Even in death this artist did not lay down her brushes, through the gift of organ and tissue donation Lori’s loving brush strokes will touch families forever.

She was born Jan. 5, 1963, to Alvin “Bud” Lowe Sr. and Juanitta Dalphine Richards of Mulberry, Kan. She attended Arma schools and chose a career in pest control, working all over the four-state area. She was currently employed by Simple Simons Pizza in Baxter Springs and Emerald Pointe in Galena. She was a member of the Elks Lodge, Springdale, Ark. Lori was former Girl Scout leader and was active in her granddaughter’s Baxter Springs Daisy Troop as well as her biggest fan at twirling events.

Lori enjoyed life and the simple pleasures it provided. She never wanted for material things and had a keen understanding that happiness was not in things you could purchase. She walked through life with bare feet and a free spirit. Her life was a beautiful canvas and she painted it with love.

She will be missed by her daughter, Heathur Pliler, sonin-law Brent and granddaughter Kami of Baxter Springs, her son Robert White of Fayetteville, Ark., her best friend Phil Clugston of rural Cherokee and her companion dog Gizmo. She is also survived by stepdaughters Kelli and William Phillips of Salina, Kan., Kristyn and Jeremy Shultz of Lenexa, Kan., and additional granddaughters Inga, Abigail and Emilee. She was preceded in death by her parents, but leaves behind her brothers and sisters. Marilyn VanKirk, and Coletta and Karry Pitts, all of Baxter Springs, Kan.; Alvin and Nancy Lowe Jr., Cherokee, Kan.; Dianne and Rick Neal of Farmington, Ark.; Art and Trish Lowe, Pittsburg, Kan.; and Marc Lowe Sr. of Pittsburg, Kan. Additionally she will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews upon whom’s lives she had tremendous impact.

A celebration of Lori’s life will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 1245 Park Ave. in Baxter Springs with a memorial service by pastor Dallas Satterfield.

In lieu of flowers donations can be left at the church in her name.
