MOUNT JULIET NEXT IN LINE

University of Oklahoma signee Morgan Hook scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists to lead Rogers High to a 55-33 win over North Greene in the opening round of the 21st annual Greenbank Ladies Classic on Monday in Greeneville, Tenn.

The Lady Mounties (9-2) trailed 10-7 after one quarter, but held the Huskies to just one field goal in the second quarter to take a 17-9 halftime lead.

“We were dang good on defense all night,” Rogers coach Preston Early said.

Rogers then warmed up offensively, making 15 of 22 floor shots in the second half to pull away for the win.

“We settled into a groove in the second half,” Early said. “I really like the way we regrouped in the second half. We had a lot of focus and purpose.”

Taylor Murphy added 11 for the Lady Mounties.

Dakota White finished with a game-high 16 points for North Greene.

Rogers will take on Mount Juliet, Tenn., in the second round today and Early is ready for another tough test.

“We watched Mount Juliet, they are tough,” Early said. “They have five kids that can score.”
