Springdale Man Arrested In Connection With Attack

Springdale police arrested Marco Herrera Munoz, 44, of 1807 Lawrence St., in connection with a series of domestic incidents dating back to June.

According to a police department release, police were called to a domestic disturbance about 11:10 p.m. Saturday at a residence in Springdale.

During the investigation, officers said they determined a rape had occurred.

Munoz, who knew the woman involved, came through an unsecured window that he had previously broken, police said.

According to a police report, after cutting the woman with a knife, Munoz assaulted her. Munoz took the woman’s cell phone, and fled the scene. A friend of the woman arrived and notified police.

On Sunday, police went to Munoz’s residence to arrest him on an outstanding warrant for a third-degree domestic battering incident that occurred in June.

Munoz refused to answer the door. Officers got a search warrant and found Munoz hiding under a bed.

Munoz was arrested Sunday on the outstanding domestic battering warrant.

Police were also questioning Munoz on Sunday, and issued a probable cause warrant, in connection with rape, residential burglary, domestic battery and interfering with emergency communications.
