Tiny Odell Morrison

SILOAM SPRINGS — Tiny Odell Morrison, 102, of Siloam Springs died Dec. 25, 2009, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. She was born Dec. 31, 1906, in Hico, La., to Lonnie and Nettie Reynolds Williams.

She was a homemaker and of the Southern Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, David Morrison of Colcord, Okla., Larry Morrison and wife Pat of Siloam Springs, Bryan Morrison and wife Susan of Siloam Springs; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

Mary E. Womble

ROGERS — Mary E. Womble, 68, of Rogers died Dec. 22, 2009. She was born Dec. 31, 1940, in Hamlin, Texas.

She was a member of the VFW Post 3038 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her mother, Olive Smith; a son, Jerry Pipitone of Rogers; two daughters, Loren Muscat of Bozeman, Mont., and Meredith Cotton of Washington state; five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Geneva Geraldine Thrash

BENTONVILLE — Geneva Geraldine Thrash, 87, of Bentonville died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. She was born on Sept. 23, 1922, in Amity to Lewis Latch and Madie East Latch.

She was a grade-school teacher for 25 years, having taught in Glenwood and Kirby.

Survivors include a son, Stanley Thrash and wife Tina of Bentonville; a daughter, Vicky Cowart and husband Phil of Bentonville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Bentonville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the church.

Burial will be at the Bentonville City Cemetery.

Clara Wright

SPRINGDALE — Clara Wright, 79, of Springdale died Dec. 24, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born March 29, 1930, in Springdale to Marion William and Jessie Mae Riggins Fields.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Wright and wife Barbara of Fayetteville, and Marion Wright of Rogers; two daughters, Marcia Stamps and husband Rick of Springdale, and Belinda Reynolds and husband John of Ozark; a brother, Jim Fields of Springdale; three sisters, Lela Pianalto and Betty Reed, both of Springdale, Nadine Holland of Gentry; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Russell Paul Turner

SPRINGDALE — Russell Paul Turner, 56, of Springdale died Dec. 22, 2009, in New Orleans. He was born Oct. 2, 1953, in Springdale to John Russell and Betty Marie Dennis Turner.

He was owner/operator of RP Turner Construction.

Survivors include his companion, Robin Soliz; a daughter, Brandy M. Furner and husband John of Bentonville; two sons, Jason P. Turner and wife Kelly of Siloam Springs, and P.J. Turner of the home; a daughter, Michelle Soliz of the home; his mother, Betty Marie Turner of Springdale; five grandchildren; a brother, Johnny Turner of Springdale; two sisters, including Millie Turner of Springdale.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Committal service will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.

Inez Selby

FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Inez Selby, 83 of Fayetteville passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, in Springdale. She was born Nov. 28, 1926, in London to Charles Turner and Jenny (Lamb) Turner.

She was a homemaker and a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Farmington.

Mrs. Selby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Caswell, Ruby Young; two brothers, Nolan and Marvin Turner; and a grandson, Wayne Selby.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Vincent “Jim” Selby; two sons, Ken Selby and wife Jeanne of Rogers, Jerry Selby and wife Cindy of Fort Smith; two daughters, Janet Linebaugh and husband Scott of Springdale, Denise Rapier and husband Mickey of Rogers; three sisters, Etta Brown and Floy Clubb of Knoxville, Charlene Meechem of Ely, Nev.; 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Rapier officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Frank A. Sunday

GARFIELD — Frank A. Sunday, 83, of Garfield, passed away Dec. 27, 2009, in Rogers. Mr. Sunday was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Rockford, Ill., the son of Albert and Francis Sidell Sunday.

He was a retired bartender in Las Vegas. Frank served in the United States Army and was a avid antique gun collector.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Wilson Sunday; his parents; and his mother-in-law, Betty Foster.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Carlson and husband Art of Garfield, Allison Wilson and husband Robert of Valley Center, Kan., and John Sunday and wife Julie of Weaverville, N.C.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

John Otis Cathey Jr.

ROGERS — John Otis Cathey Jr., 87, of Rogers died Dec. 15, 2009. He was born June 22, 1922, in Little Rock to John Otis Cathey Sr. and Ruth Middleton Cathey.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was in the Army Reserves during the Korean Conflict. He was a former Benton County justice of the peace.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Cathey; a son, Breck Cathey of Richfield Park, N.J.; a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church.

Cremation arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Joseph Homer Murphy

BELLA VISTA — Joseph Homer Murphy, 84, of Bella Vista died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born Dec. 4, 1925, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Joseph Murphy and Elsie Koehler Murphy.

He was captain of his high school basketball team, an avid golfer and an excellent teacher. Joseph was a 22-year veteran in the U.S. Air Force, having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista, and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Bonnie Murphy of Bella Vista; son, Joseph Michael Murphy of Overland Park, Kan.; daughters: Mary Beth Allen of Bellevue, Neb.; Cathleen Ann Nelson and her husband Martin of Denver; and Amy Garbett of Johnston, Iowa; five grandchildren; brother Ronald Murphy of St. Joseph, Mo.; and sisters, Nancy Hughes, and Mary Ann Kobett both of St. Joseph.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1 St. Bernard Lane in Bella Vista, with Monsignor James Mancini officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary service Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Bernard Catholic Church, Building Fund, or charity of the donor’s choice.
