Pea Ridge Police Arrest Man In Connection With Rape

Pea Ridge police arrested Kendall Wayne Oaks, 31, of Washburn, Mo., on Tuesday in connection with rape.

Oaks was arrested when he showed up for Pea Ridge court attending to a misdemeanor charge.

Pea Ridge Police Chief Tim Ledbetter said the incident occurred Nov. 2, but the department needed time to track Oaks down.

According to Ledbetter, police responded at 11:20 p.m. Nov. 2 to a call at a residence on Wade Lane. Officers said a 27-year-old Fayetteville woman reported a sexual assault.

The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Oaks, Ledbetter said.

Oaks was being held Wednesday in the Benton County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
