She was preceded in death by her husbands, Forrest Johnson and Oda Mayo; and son Forrest “Sonny” Johnson. Survivors include daughters Brenda Price of Fayetteville and Barbara Huskey of Goshen; sisters Betty Stratford of Wichita, Kan., Marilyn Whisenhunt of Pea Ridge, and Frances Cline and Peggy Cawthon of Rogers; brother Dick Lockhart of El Dorado, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Philadelphia to Patrick and Elizabeth Brady Boyce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wesley Swedlund; and two sisters, Margaret Boyce and Anna Boyce. Survivors include children Carl Wesley Swedlund Jr. of West Fork and Patricia Lee Hembree of the home; sister Mary Loyden of Philadelphia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. GREENLAND - Gladys Davis, 91, of Greenland died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at North Hills Life Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 1, 1918, at Winslow, the daughter of Charles Eli and Dessie Southern Caudle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Eugene W. Davis.

She was an excellent homemaker and gardener and loved flowers. She was a lifetime member and traveled extensively with Good Sam’s Club and a St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothing for the University of Arkansas sororities’ members.

She is survived by five sons, Charles Davis and hiswife Cynthia of Bentonville, Benny Davis and his wife Donna of Aptos, Calif., Jarrell Davis and his wife Michelle of Greenland, Darrell Davis and his wife Patsy of Greenland, Terry Davis and his wife KC of Okinawa, Japan; a daughter, Connie Green and her husband Stan of Fayetteville; a sister, Ruby Center of Greenland; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Moore’s Chapel. Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Moore’s Chapel. To sign the online guest book, visit

OMAHA - Jonathan Luke See, of Omaha died Dec. 19, 2009, at the age of 22. He is survived by his wife Daisy See, and daughters Gabriella and Mariah. Visitation is Monday, Dec. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Holt Memorial Chapel in Harrison. Funeral service is Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church near Burlington.
