Posted: December 24, 2009 at 2:45 a.m.
The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission will hold public meetings around the state from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 5 to gather input from hunters before setting the 2010-2011 seasons.
The closest meeting toNorthwest Arkansas will be at the Janet Huckabee Arkansas River Nature Center, 8300 Wells Road, in Fort Smith.
Meetings are also planned for Little Rock, Jonesboro, Pine Bluft and Camden.
A live television show on AETN will air from 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 7 where hunterscan ask questions and give comment.
The number of meetings has been reduced because they have been poorly attended. Game & Fish hopes that adding the television program will give the public added opportunity to comment.
