Liberty Bowl tickets still remain despite 'sellout'

East Carolina officials have limited number of tickets remaining

— A limited number of tickets still remain for the Liberty Bowl, but the small allotment is expected to be sold by the end of the business day.

Liberty Bowl officials labeled the Jan. 2 bowl a sellout at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The bowl seats 62,000. The sellout for the Arkansas-East Carolina game is the first in two years for the Memphis-based bowl.

Arkansas officials announced Saturday that it had sold its entire allotment of 25,500 tickets. East Carolina had 85 tickets remaining for the game through its ticket office Wednesday as of 2:30 p.m. CT.

East Carolina was allotted 7,000 tickets for the bowl game.

The Liberty Bowl will kick off at 4:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
