Authorities on the hunt for Faulkner County escapee

Posted: December 23, 2009 at 10:46 a.m.

— Authorities are searching for a Greenbrier man who escaped from the Faulkner County jail where he was awaiting trial on burglary charges.

Authorities say 19-year-old Christopher Jordan McNeely had been a trusty at the jail. A spokesman for the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office says McNeely isn’t considered dangerous and that he was well-behaved at jail. Authorities say McNeely apparently pushed a food cart against a metal fence and slipped through the razor wire early Tuesday morning.

Prosecutor Marcus Vaden said Wednesday that McNeely will face a felony charge of escape.

McNeely had been charged with two counts of residential burglary, three counts of theft by receiving and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card.
