Fort Smith’s KISR-FM 93.7 will have its annual New Year’s Eve balldrop and fireworks show beginning at 7 p.m.

Dec. 31 at Creekmore Park.

The family-oriented event will include bounce-arounds, refreshments and more.

Guests can ride the Creekmore Express train for free from 7-11 p.m.

The New Year’s ball will drop at midnight. A fireworks display will follow.

The event is free and open to the public. No alcohol will be allowed.

Lake Fort Smith State Park in Mountainburg will host a Blue Moon Cruise on New Year’s Eve from 4:30-6 p.m.

Guests will cruise along Frog Bayou in an open-air pontoon boat. Visitors should dress warmly.

Reservations are requested. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $4.50 for children.

The winter and spring schedules are set for the RLT Spotlight Studio classes at Rogers Little Theater.

Classes include Adventures in Acting, which teaches basic drama skills; Show Stoppers, which gets children involved in the creative process of musical theater; Triple Threat, which focuses on acting, dancing and singing; and Homeschool Drama/Musical Theater, which is designed to teach basic theater skills to homeschool students. Classes are available for children ages 6 to 18.

The winter session is set for Jan. 11 to March 13, with performances at 7 p.m. March 12-13. Spring classes will be held March 29 through May 22, with performances at 7 p.m. May 21-22.

Each eight-week class costs $125.

Discounts are available for children who sign up for more than one class.

Free resume review sessions offered

The Fayetteville Public Library will offer free resume review sessions with local human resources expert Ellen Bruce from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the first and second Thursday of each month.

Bruce will review and provide feedback on resumes during the drop-in sessions. She has more than 20 years of human resources experience including managing her own job placement company.
