Man Pleads Not Guilty To Attempting To Kill Wife

— A Siloam Springs man pleaded not guilty Monday to attempted murder charges before Circuit Judge Robin Green.

Jorge Armando Tarin, 32, is charged with attempted murder in the first degree, which is punishable with a prison sentence ranging from six to 30 years.

Tarin was arrested Nov. 12.

According to court documents, Tarin stabbed his wife and then cut himself. He was later found unconscious with a knife in his hand in the parking lot of Summerhill Apartments.

Tarin is accused of stabbing his wife, Marisella Tarin, in the throat and abdomen and then cutting himself in the neck, according to court documents.

An affidavit of probable cause claims that Marisella Tarin was able to flee her home and went to a neighbor’s apartment and the neighbor called 911.

An omnibus hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Jan. 19.

Jorge Tarin was treated at Northwest Medical Center before the taken to the Benton County Jail.

He is being held on $500,000 bond.
