Mallett confirmed Tuesday that he filed the paperwork. The committee will issue a projected “draft round grade" to underclassmen who request feedback. The turnaround for feedback is, reportedly, usually 10 to 14 days.

Mallett does not have a round-grade in mind that would turn him toward the draft or back to Arkansas, he said.

“I’m not even worried about that right now,” Mallett said. “That was just a preliminary thing that a lot of juniors do, so I did it just to see what they had to say. But right now we’re focused on East Carolina. The practices this week have been very good and I think we’re going to be very prepared for this team.”

The deadline to declare for the NFL Draft is Jan. 15.

Mallett threw for 3,422 yards and 29 touchdowns with 7 interceptions this season, and set or tied 16 school records.

The redshirt sophomore is eligible to declare early for the draft because he's three years removed from high school.
