UA vice chancellor takes Iowa post

FAYETTEVILLE The associate vice chancellor for university relations at the University of Arkansas has been named vice president for strategic communication at the University of Iowa.
Tysen Kendig will begin work at Iowa Feb. 15. He succeeds Jude West, who has served as interim vice president for strategic communication since 2008.
The vice president for strategic communication is the school’s chief communication officer.
Kendig will oversee the Office of University Relations, the Center for Media Production, University of Iowa Television, the UI Alumni Association and Hancher Auditorium.
At the University of Arkansas, Kendig helped lead development of the institution’s first comprehensive marketing program and strategic communication plan, overhauled the university’s graphic identity system, and initiated creation of the Southeastern Conference Communicators Association.
