Local Radio Station Listeners Grant Christmas Wishes

The Christmas wishes of many Northwest Arkansas families were met because of the actions of listeners of local radio station 101.1 FM KLRC.

After Thanksgiving, KLRC, a ministry of John Brown University, began asking listeners to make a Christmas wish online at www. KLRC.com for themselves or someone they knew. Last week, 57 wishes have been posted online and 18 wishes have been granted. In addition, a wish will be granted on air every weekday morning through Christmas Eve.

Some of the wishes that have been granted include:

Replacing a broken window on a single mother’s car so that she and her children would not be cold while traveling to school and work.

Providing Christmas dinner and groceries for an Army veteran who has been out of state looking for work and is returning home for Christmas.

Giving a mattress so that three children would not have to sleep on the fl oor after their father lost his job and they all moved in with their grandparents.
