Phi Delt debacle

A chapter well closed

HOW SAD and yet well deserved. One of the largest and oldest fraternities on the University of Arkansas’ campus at Fayetteville—Phi Delta Theta—now has had its charter suspended. Its grand house, just remodeled, has been shuttered. And all because on November 12th, the Phi Delts chose to imitate characters in Animal House rather than follow the national fraternity’s clear restrictions on alcohol and hazing. The young men who lived there are looking for other quarters.
